We at CONNECT understand that local businesses are the backbone and powerhouse of our local communities. They provide our much-needed supplies and services - together with local employment.

Major corporations - such as Amazon - have their place in this world for both convenience and choice. However, two primary features set corporate giants apart from our own - and friendly - local businesses.
These giants aren’t in the least person-centred – there’s no smiley face to hold a friendly conversation with.
Their generated profits – eye-watering as they are - will never be recycled back into our local communities.
Local businesses have an advantage over these giants - for now at least! Real human beings have the ability to interact sensitively, politely and helpfully. It is these human qualities - applied locally - which are absent when shopping online - but that is set to change.
For business owners - Backing Local is also about making the most of these human qualities such that they are not only noticed, but highly valued and appreciated.
