WHAT IS BACKING LOCAL?
We at CONNECT understand that local businesses are the backbone and powerhouse of our local communities. They provide our much-needed supplies and services - together with local employment.

Major corporations - such as Amazon - have their place in this world for both convenience and choice. However, two primary features set corporate giants apart from our own - and friendly - local businesses.
These giants aren’t in the least person-centred – there’s no smiley face to hold a friendly conversation with.
Their generated profits – eye-watering as they are - will never be recycled back into our local communities.
Our work centres on serving our local communities with news from around the world and about our local events. A key feature of Backing Local is promotion of our local businesses - in and around our town - by all of us!
Backing Local also means giving support to our
local events - and even helping to both start and fund Community Inspired Projects.
The initiative 'JOIN US and be A DOT' is about members of our community - along with others - coming together to debate and share their opinions and visions for what we would all choose as being A BETTER WAY.
That is - A BETTER WAY to organise and run our society.
