The gov't are pushing to consolidate councils by combining District Councils with County Councils. Sounds efficient - but is it? They also want to split the County Council. Has this really been thought through?

There seems to be a move in gov't to deliver more top down control of everything - whilst they talk about efficiencies and growth. Local people - given the chance - will deliver both. Why not let them do that?

It's totally right that our SMPs lead campaigns - so long as they are rightful. But this SMP, Siobhan Baillie, has a mixed agenda. She's also campaigned to silence free press in Stroud. Now, is that rightful?
