Tetbury and Malmesbury's new SMP has a head for this stuff and is concerned the right choices are taken. But here's the rub. What information are these choices based upon? A community debate anyone?

Just when we all thought we were on track for green energy - wind and solar - Nuclear energy producer EDF wants to ruin even more productive farmland. Is this a good time for a public debate?

It seems, one of the reasons the gov't is attacking farms is to free up land such that big corporates can make money from charging people for electricity. If only people were allowed that banned free energy!

Yet another plan is in the air for more solar panels to be installed in fields near Stow-on-the-Wold. At one level this seems great - but at so many other levels it makes no sense whatsoever. A rethink on this?

Is there a plan to transform valuable farmland into industrial wasteland? Given the grid won't cope - forced labour for panels and many other issues - would people be forgiven for having such suspicions?

This project is truly off the scale! Local to Tetbury there's a plan to cover 2000acres of prime farmland with solar panels. But this project is 13x the Lime Down proposal. Serious public debates need to happen!

The energy company has made its first concession to soften the blow of the impact of this 2000acre solar farm project on valuable farmland in North Wiltshire. This move will have been built in from the start.

More prime farmland is set to be spoiled by the spread of industrial-scale solar battery farms across Wiltshire. The policy is risking food security at huge expense on a system many say is ineffective and wrong!

To many scientists, the gov't policy to invest in solar makes no sense. Not even in sunny California is this system viable. So what's the point? Is it to ruin farmland and food output - and limit fuel alternatives?

There're massive plans in Wiltshire and other places to cover farmland in solar panels and battery stations. The policy is detrimental to food security. Plus - energy can be free and available! Look up Tartaria!

SMP for North Wilts said in a recent public meeting in Malmesbury - Wiltshire has more than its fair share of solar farms already. We shouldn't allow any more. Now WCC is set to take a vote on the issue.

We're seeing a deluge of planning applications for solar farms and battery storage units across the country. This one is similar to another due for siting near Sherston in Wiltshire. But, how necessary are they?

The facebook group - Sustainable Sherston - must now be in dilemma. The group is passionate about sustainability so will they be in support of this massive solar park in their back gardens? Time will tell.

James Gray SMP at last week's community meeting pointed the finger at the developer as the enemy. But the developer is just a developer. Isn't the guilty one - if there is one - really the gov't for inviting this?

A cold wet night in Malmesbury and over 300 turn up to debate the proposal for a 2000 acre Solar Field across a swathe of prime farm land. So many questions were sprung this evening so the debate continues.

What is really going on? The proposal is to cover first class farmland with a sea of solar panels. Should we ask why this is necessary - since free energy is available - and who is set to benefit exactly?

Farmland is being squeezed - food production sqeezed - farmers income squeezed. But solar energy farms expanded when - as many say - they don't work well enough and are not needed anyway.
